*YAWN* Good Morning!
Welcome to Monday, where we figure out if we can even make it through the day because we probably didn’t get enough sleep over the weekend!
Before you grab that third cup of coffee, let me give you 3 ways I make sure I sleep WELL, even though I’m still working on getting MORE sleep:
1. Blackout curtains and eye masks: I LOVE the idea of a pitch black room! I’m like a bird in a cage. If it’s dark, my body and brain get the hint that it’s time to wind down and get to sleep. I even turn lights down and off around the house when it’s time for my kids to get ready for bed. Lights = movement
2. Essential oils: Sometimes, I will diffuse lavender essential oil an hour or so before bed so that the room has a sense of calm and relaxation before I get in the bed. Occasionally, I’ll add a few drops to a warm shower at night, which is SUPER helpful!
3. NO TV! I cannot sleep well if the TV is on. I can go to sleep, but I will end up dreaming about what’s in TV and I’ll wake up in the middle of the night. The light may even trigger a headache for me so I avoid the TV if I can.
These are a few things that work for me. Next goal? 7-8 hours.. 😬
